Pusher Sorter

Best Innovations in Pusher Sorter

A Pusher Sorter as type implies uses a device to “push” product off of the sortation line. These pushers are usually constructed using an air actuated cylinder with a block mounted across its face. The cylinder extends out until the desired length is detected (usually via a reed switch at a fixed point) and makes contact with the item travelling across it’s face, thus diverting it off of the main line.

Several Pushers can be Mounted along a belt conveyor to increase the number of sorter points, which makes this an extremely economical sortation method, especially when a minimal number of sorter points are required. Pusher sorters where some of the very first sortation devices put into service in the 1950s.

Optimal for Very Low Throughputs

The Pusher Sorter System is a low-cost, conveyor-based sortation solution that is ideal for low-throughput applications. It is designed for simple, efficient sorting at a cost-effective price point, making it an excellent choice for smaller operations.

Key Advantages

  • Best-suited for low-speed sorting of cartons, cases, totes, and crates.
  • Easy to install and offers the lowest CAPEX in its class.
  • Requires minimal maintenance, ensuring cost savings.
  • Provides 90-degree discharge with narrow chutes to save space.
  • Features extremely high system uptime for continuous operations.
